Sports join together to develop Mental Health Awareness e-learning course

Now more than ever having an awareness of mental health problems is vital.  Sport NI have been working with sporting bodies to develop a Mental Health Awareness e-learning course.

The course is available to members of all sports clubs across Northern Ireland. The e-learning course defines mental health, the difference between mental health and mental ill-health, discusses the stigma of mental health and signs of mental health problems, where to access support and self-help strategies, including the five steps to wellbeing.

The Mental Health Awareness – Level 1 online course can be completed for free at a time and a pace suitable to the individual and can be accessed through the link: https://www.wellbeinginsport.com/

Sport Mental Health courses promote the following approach:

  • Level 1: Mental Health Awareness e-learning module https://www.wellbeinginsport.com/(Level 1 is recognised as a prerequisite to Level 2 and Level 3 courses)
