In this unique insight, the Northern Ireland's Interim Mental Health Champion, explores the subjects of self-care and leadership.

Leaders in community and voluntary sector organisations, as well as the statutory sector, have been at the forefront of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Northern Ireland but how do they maintain their resilience in order to offer the best possible support to people and communities? The answer, according to Professor Siobhan O'Neill:

‘As we face the second wave of the pandemic, leaders and people in our communities are faced with fresh demands on their levels of resilience to maintain good mental health and emotional wellbeing. The seminar will look at how leaders are managing their own wellbeing and the wellbeing of their teams, for the good of the communities they serve.’

Professor Siobhan O'Neill is a Professor of Mental Health Sciences at Ulster University. Siobhán is one of Northern Ireland’s leading experts in the field of mental health, known for her active and passionate involvement in suicide prevention.
