Mental Health
Workplace health is more than a trend; it’s a fundamental component of a productive and supportive work environment. This is the guiding principle behind the Work Well Live Well Program, a workplace health initiative funded by the Public Health Agency. This program partners with companies across various sectors, providing resources, training, and guidance to promote physical and mental wellbeing in the workplace. A recent success story within this initiative is the partnership between IMAC Group and the Work Well Live Well Program, highlighting how proactive engagement can foster a positive and resilient workforce.
The IMAC Group is an excellent example of an organization that prioritises the mental and physical health of its employees. Recognizing the importance of a supportive worke nvironment, IMAC Group recently conducted a comprehensive wellbeing survey among its staff to identify key health areas to address. This survey led to the development of a tailored wellbeing plan, an actionable roadmap for creating a workplace that values and supports employee health.
As part of this commitment, IMAC Group took advantage of the resources offered through the Work Well Live Well Program, including a variety of wellbeing and training initiatives designed to enhance their workplace health framework.
One of the standout events was Men’s Health Week, which provided IMAC Group with an opportunity to focus on men’s mental health—a topic that is often overlooked but essential for a holistic approach to workplace wellbeing. Staff were invited to participate in a Men's Health Talk, an event that focused on addressing mental health openly and constructively.
As part of this initiative, IMAC Group distributed Health Information Van packs to employees, which included resources such as information on smoking cessation ,pocket cards with emergency phone numbers, and other health-related materials. In addition, male employees had the chance to attend a webinar on men's health, hosted by the Health and Social Care Trust. By creating spaces where health topics are accessible and encouraged, IMAC Group demonstrates its dedication to fostering a culture of health and openness.
The partnership with Work Well Live Well doesn't stop at single events. According to Sabrina Moore, Program Manager for Work Well, IMAC Group’s commitment to employee wellbeing is commendable. "It’s fantastic to see a local company take the health and wellbeing of its employees seriously,” she said, underscoring the importance of continuous engagement in workplace health. The program will continue to provide IMAC Group with a range of resources, including the opportunity to establish Workplace Health Champions, host Mental Health Awareness sessions, and participate in Cancer Awareness initiatives. These resources support long-term engagement with employee health, building a foundation for a resilient workforce.
The IMAC Group and Work Well Live Well collaboration serves as a model for other organisations looking to prioritise employee wellbeing. By taking a proactive approach to health—one that includes mental, physical, and emotional aspects—businesses can build a healthier, more engaged, and more productive workforce. This ongoing commitment not only benefits employees but also strengthens the organisation by creating a positive work culture that attracts and retains talent.
For companies interested in enhancing their workplace wellbeing, the Work Well Live Well Program provides an accessible pathway. With resources tailored to meet the unique needs of each workplace, businesses can engage in initiatives that support both immediate and long-term health goals. Programs like Work Well Live Well show that investing in employee wellbeing is an investment in a brighter, more sustainable future for the workforce.
By fostering collaborations with companies like IMAC Group, the Work Well Live Well Program continues to make strides in creating healthier workplaces across the region. It’s a powerful reminder of the positive impact that dedicated workplace health programs can have on individuals and organisations alike.
