Your wellbeing, our passion

At Developing Healthy Communities, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live a healthier, happier and more fulfilling life. We're dedicated to improving mental, physical and social wellbeing, supporting individuals, families and communities across Northern Ireland.

Through community health programmes, mental health training, workplace wellbeing initiatives and family mentoring, we provide practical support, knowledge and opportunities that help people take positive steps towards better health.

Partnership and collaboration are at the heart of our work. We bring people and organisations together, champion community voices and advocate for better health and wellbeing services. By addressing health inequalities and breaking down barriers to support, we're helping to build stronger, healthier and more connected communities.

What we do

Our strategy

Our vision is for everyone to have the opportunity to live a healthy, happy and fulfilling life in the community they call home.

Across Derry City and Strabane, significant health inequalities continue to impact local communities, with health outcomes often falling below the Northern Ireland average.

We're committed to addressing these challenges by building on local strengths, working in partnership and tackling the underlying causes of poor health. Together, we aim to reduce health inequalities, strengthen community resilience and create lasting improvements in health and wellbeing.
