Hope is the message as Omagh hosts latest Clear Forum

The Clear Project was on the road again this month, this time taking time to soak up the autumnal sunshine in Omagh’s Strule Arts Centre, writes Clear Project Manager Sarah-Jane Goldring.

Promoting hope in the west was the message for the forum event, an apt strapline for the time of the year, following World Suicide Prevention Day on 10 September, and the agenda made every effort to do exactly that.

Attendees comprised representatives from the community & voluntary sector within the wider Omagh area, and were engaged by presentations from a range of statutory and community & voluntary sector organisations including the Public Health Agency, The Western Health and Social Care Trust, Lifeline, Ascert and local short term funding-recipient Together With Solace.

The event focused on the services that exist to support, intervene and provide postvention within the immediate locality and wider Trust area, and to promote awareness of some more regional services which deliver an impact locally.

The attendees were encouraged to connect with each other, share the messages that they had heard and to continue supporting us with our message of hope by spreading the word throughout their networks, volunteers and communities.

The Clear Forum by Developing Healthy Communities will be back in the New Year, visiting Limavady in February.
